Gloria S. Nelund – Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Gloria Nelund co-founded TriLinc Global after a rewarding career as one of the most successful and visible executives in the international asset management industry. She is responsible for leading the Company’s high-level strategy and directing its growth since its founding in 2008. Gloria brings to TriLinc Global more than 30 years of experience in executive management of multi-billion dollar financial institutions, as well as deep expertise in the creation, sales and distribution of investment products.
Most recently, Gloria was the CEO of the U.S. Private Wealth Management Division at Deutsche Bank, the world’s fifth largest financial institution. In this capacity, she held fiduciary responsibility for more than $50 billion in investment assets, including more than $20 billion in emerging markets and credit instruments. In addition to her role as divisional CEO, Gloria served as the only female member of the Global Private Wealth Management Executive Committee.
Gloria has been a pioneer in the development of social impact products. She was instrumental in making Deutsche Bank a leading institutional supporter of microcredit, creating multiple programs to help Private Wealth Management clients learn about and invest in the sector. Gloria also served on the Board of the Deutsche Bank Americas Community Development Group, with responsibility for providing loans, investments and grants to targeted organizations throughout the U.S. and Latin America. Gloria also was the Managing Director of Scudder Kemper Investments prior to its purchase by Deutsche Bank. While at Scudder, she supported the development and growth of one of the industry’s first socially-responsible investment (SRI) products.
Prior to her tenure at Deutsche Bank, Gloria spent 16 years as an executive at Bank of America/Security Pacific Bank, most notably as President and CEO of BofA Capital Management, Inc., an investment management subsidiary managing $35 billion in assets for both retail and institutional investors. In addition to managing fixed-income and equity mutual funds in the U.S. and internationally, Gloria’s division was responsible for managing assets on behalf of public funds, common trust funds and corporate funds.
In addition to her activities with TriLinc, Gloria is an Independent Trustee of the Victory Funds, a mutual fund complex with more than $32.9 billion in assets under management. She is a life-long supporter of development-oriented philanthropic causes. She has volunteered as a teacher of at-risk youth in the Los Angeles Unified School District and the YMCA of Los Angeles. Gloria currently sits on the board of multiple not-for-profit organizations and actively supports entrepreneurship research and education. She is an active speaker and guest lecturer on Impact Investing at conferences and several top business schools, including Columbia, Georgetown, Wheaton, Kellogg, Stanford and MIT.
Brent VanNorman – President
Brent VanNorman is the President of TriLinc Global and is a key member of the Executive Management team. With responsibility for ensuring that the company’s investment systems and operational infrastructure can deliver exceptional results and that the company consistently delivers on its financial targets, Brent is responsible for planning, implementing and managing all financial, legal/structural, and operational activities of the Company and its affiliates. Brent brings a breadth of experience in business, accounting, data processing, and the law to the TriLinc management team. Prior to joining the Company, Brent served as a key member of the Intellectual Property and Litigation Team for the international law firm of Hunton & Williams LLP. In addition to appearing in many federal courts throughout the country and at all levels in the Virginia state court system, Brent is a patent attorney.
Prior to practicing law, Brent was a Chief Information Officer for The Title Office, where he managed the accounting, data processing and marketing department, along with 15 of the company’s 42 offices. Prior to his tenure at The Title Office, Brent was a Senior Manager with the international CPA firm of Crowe Horwath (formerly Crowe Chizek), where he oversaw large consulting projects in the firm’s Systems Consulting Group. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Computer Programmer and is certified in Production and Inventory Management.
Brent graduated magna cum laude from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, with majors in Accounting and Computer Science. He was recognized as the Outstanding Accounting graduate. Brent graduated summa cum laude from Regent University School of Law and was recognized as the Outstanding Law School Graduate, in addition to being Editor-in-Chief of the school’s law review. He was an adjunct law professor at his alma mater. Brent has served on the Board of Directors of IMPACT International, a not-for-profit, since 2004, and on the Board of Directors of CCG Systems, Inc. since September 2015.
Paul R. Sanford – Chief Investment Officer & Investment Committee Chairman
Paul Sanford is the Chief Investment Officer at TriLinc Global and is a key member of the Executive Management team. As Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of TriLinc’s Investment Committee, Paul has responsibility for planning, implementing and managing all investment management related activities of the Company and its affiliates. He is an experienced investment professional, most recently serving as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Tow Financial Advisors, a Los Angeles-based boutique Registered Investment Advisor. As Chief Investment Officer, he was responsible for developing and implementing Tow’s global investment strategy, performing manager due diligence, and managing all fund investment relationships.
His extensive experience in the banking and investment industry includes portfolio manager positions at Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Morton Capital Management. For over a decade, Paul has been recognized as a global macro investor with a focus on central bank policy, GDP growth trends, global interest rates, global currencies and foreign government policies with an emphasis in emerging markets. He is a published thought leader and has hosted regular Investor Briefings on his macro-economic outlook and global investment strategy.
Paul earned his B.A. in Business Economics from California State University, Long Beach and previously served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of Los Angeles and the CFA Institute.
Paul serves on the Investment Committee for the City of Hope, an independent biomedical research, treatment and education institution, leading the fight to conquer cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.
Bernadetta Scholz – Chief Financial Officer
Bernadetta Scholz is the Chief Financial Officer of TriLinc Global and a key member of the TriLinc Global Executive Management team. Bernadetta is responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting, financial planning, and reporting activities, and for ensuring that TriLinc consistently delivers on its financial targets. Her duties include preparing and filing all required financial reporting for TriLinc’s public company funds, oversight of the Finance team, day-to-day operations, and supporting the overall financial performance of TriLinc Global.
Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Bernadetta worked as an independent executive finance and accounting consultant specializing in initial public offerings, Security Exchange Commission reporting, and fund-raising modeling. Prior to executive consulting, Bernadetta was the Vice President of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations at ConnectWise, a software provider for IT service companies. Prior to ConnectWise, Bernadetta was the Director of Financial Planning and Reporting for Houlihan Lokey, an independent, advisory-focused, global investment bank headquartered in Los Angeles. She oversaw all aspects of financial reporting and analysis, and supported the Executive Board of Directors. Bernadetta was a critical member of the Houlihan Lokey IPO team. Bernadetta’s earlier career included contributions to BNP-Paribas, Boeing, and International Rectifier. She is well-regarded as a qualified expert in accounting and is a licensed securities representative.
Bernadetta earned her M.B.A from Keller Graduate School of Management, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and received her B.A. in Finance and Banking from Warsaw Higher School of Commerce and International Finance. Bernadetta is fluent in Polish and conversational in both German and Russian.
Tim Morgan – Director of Institutional Sales
Tim Morgan is the Director of Institutional Sales at TriLinc Global and is a key member of the Executive Management Team. Tim manages institutional sales outreach for TriLinc and brings over 30 years of experience in the capital markets, venture capital and consulting industries holding senior positions in sales, business development and management as well as serving as board advisor and mentor to several technology companies.
Prior to joining TriLinc, Tim managed the San Francisco office for Liquidnet, a global institutional trading firm where he was responsible for their capital markets business and outreach to the venture capital and private equity communities. Tim also was Managing Director at Hanna Ventures and Hanna Energy, LLC, a smart grid technology private equity group focused on communications and security investments within the electricity distribution and transmission space. From November 2010 to 2013, Tim was the Head of Business and Product Development for TriLinc.
Tim’s capital markets experience includes a 22 year investment banking career, which includes 12 years as an executive with Robertson Stephens and Co. where he focused on emerging growth companies and their related venture capital investors. Additionally, he managed key client relationship groups for UBS and Royal Bank of Canada. Early in his career, Tim was a co-owner of Morgan Electronics, Inc., a cyber security firm specializing in securitizing data centers and large campus environments.
Tim is an ardent supporter of positive social change through sustainable economics and technology platforms like social media, micro grids and dual currencies. He is actively involved with nonprofit organizations in South America, Asia and the U.S.
Joan Trant – Managing Partner
Joan Trant is a Managing Partner and a key member of the TriLinc Global Executive Management team, a member of the Investment Committee and of the Sustainability and Impact Committee. Her primary responsibilities include accelerating fund sales through specific channels, helping build the TriLinc brand, and leading the Company’s efforts to support the continued development of the impact investing industry. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Joan launched and was Executive Director of the International Association of Microfinance Investors (IAMFI). IAMFI’s Limited Partner members’ microfinance commitments/investments totaled $780 million, and General Partner members managed an aggregate portfolio of $1.84 billion. IAMFI led the microfinance investment industry with proprietary research, contributions to third party publications, educational and networking meetings, tailored member services and consensus-building for investor best practices.
Prior to IAMFI, Joan was Deputy Executive Director of The Resource Foundation, supporting community-building programs in 20 Latin American countries, benefiting annually 4.6 million underserved children, youths, women and men.
Previously, Joan spent 15 years in the financial services industry, holding international sales, financial advisory and operations management positions at Bankers Trust and Citibank, with direct experience in the Spanish, Mexican and Argentine markets. She oversaw a combined portfolio of $225 million in client assets.
Joan is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Level Nonprofit Management Certification Program. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. from Georgetown University. Joan serves as an advisor to Inspiring Capital and co-leads the Georgetown Alumni College program in New York City. She is fluent in Spanish with working knowledge of Portuguese. Joan is based in Manhattan.
Sandy Goodman – Managing Partner
Sandy Goodman is a Managing Partner at TriLinc Global and is a key member of the Executive Management team.
Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Sandy was a Client Services Executive at Western Asset Management Company where he was part of the original team that grew the portfolio’s assets under management from $12.5 billion to $469 billion. While at Western Asset Management Company he was Head of Endowments, Foundations, and Healthcare and also Head of Mutual Fund Board Relationships, where he advised clients and board members. Previously, Sandy worked for Bank of America Capital Management, Inc as Portfolio Manager, where he managed a $10 billion portfolio.
Sandy graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Psychology. Sandy is an Advisory Committee Member of The Movember Foundation, a leading global organization committed to raising awareness of men’s health issues. He is also an Advisory Committee Member of ONEHOPE Wine, where every purchase has an impact.
Marixa Barba – Chief of Staff & Human Resource Director
Marixa Barba is the Chief of Staff and Human Resource Director for TriLinc Global and is a key member of the Executive Management team. She is responsible for a wide variety of functions including keeping critical processes and company priorities on track, ensuring the flow of communication inside and outside the organization, supervising special projects and managing all aspects of Human Resources. She joined TriLinc Global after an 11 year career in the retail service industry. Most recently, she was the office manager for a medical transportation company and previously worked for Ridgewood Securities, an investment firm specializing in investment advisory, financial planning and pension consulting.
Marixa holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an option in International Business and a minor in Economics from California State University, Los Angeles. She also holds a Paralegal Certificate from UCLA Extension. Marixa is a member of the South Bay Young Professionals community and Soroptimist International, which is an international women’s organization for professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and around the world. Marixa is fluent in English and Spanish.
Leann Bier – RFP Associate
Leann Bier is the RFP Associate at TriLinc Global and is responsible for collaborating with team members on the development of request for proposals (RFP) materials and product/investment-related databases, as well as supporting the firm’s broader institutional business development activities. Prior to joining TriLinc, Leann was an Institutional Sales Assistant at Neuberger Berman, supporting the West Coast Institutional Sales team. Prior to that, Leann was an Assistant Vice President at Robert W. Baird, in Milwaukee, WI, working with the Private Client Research Group.
Leann is a Donate Life Ambassador and ardent supporter of organ donation, having donated a “living kidney” to her father in 1998. In 2015, she was a member of a team of 12 living kidney donors that ran a nearly 200-mile relay race from Huntington Beach to San Diego to raise awareness for Donate Life and living kidney donation.
Justin Chen – Operations & Compliance Specialist
Justin Chen is a Operations & Compliance Specialist for TriLinc Global. He is responsible for a wide variety of functions including supporting investment and accounting operations and all areas of compliance, with an emphasis on RIA and Fund compliance, as well as assisting with due diligence requests and maintaining the company’s various data rooms. He joined TriLinc Global after working as a Marketing and Investor Services Specialist at Cornerstone Real Estate Funds. Justin previously worked as a Sales Representative for a multimedia technology company.
Justin holds a B.S. in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Luis Cifuentes is the Accounting Manager at TriLinc Global, with accounting responsibilities across TriLinc Global, LLC and its subsidiaries. Immediately prior to joining TriLinc Global, Luis was Senior Accountant at GemCap Lending, a firm that provides senior-secured, commercial asset-based loans ranging from $500,000 to $10 million to small and middle market businesses. Before his tenure at GemCap, Luis was accountant for National Genetics Institute, a genetics testing research laboratory, as well as a financial services firm whose clients are high net worth individuals in the entertainment industry.
Luis graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Business Administration with an option in Accounting. Luis is a native of Guatemala and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Ariela Cohen – Senior Analyst
Ariela is a Senior Analyst at TriLinc Global, with responsibility for supporting the investment management related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Ariela worked at the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) as an IRIS and Impact Measurement Associate, helping a diverse set of impact investors manage their impact more effectively. Prior that role, she was an investment banking analyst for J.P. Morgan Public Finance, assisting universities and non-profits to issue debt in the public capital markets.
Ariela graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, Economics (PPE) from the University of Pennsylvania. She has received several FINRA licenses and is fluent in Spanish.
Andrew Corless – Operations & Compliance Specialist
Andrew Corless is an Operations and Compliance Specialist at TriLinc Global. He is responsible for a wide variety of functions including supporting investment and accounting operations and all areas of compliance, with an emphasis on RIA and Fund compliance, as well as assisting with due diligence requests and maintaining the company’s various data rooms. Andrew joined TriLinc Global after working as a Senior Operations Specialist at LPL Financial, where he was responsible for monitoring operations activities and improving risk mitigation and productivity within the company.
Andrew received a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University.
Alyssa Desmond – Junior Analyst
Alyssa Desmond is a Junior Analyst at TriLinc Global, where she is responsible for supporting the investment management related activities of TriLinc and its affiliates. Alyssa began working at TriLinc as a Credit Trainee, assisting the investment team in monitoring and performing credit analysis on portfolio companies. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Alyssa was a Financial Analyst of the LMU Student Investment Fund, where she managed a portfolio of over $500,000.
Alyssa graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.B.A. in Finance.
Dylan Goodman – Junior Analyst
Dylan Goodman is a Junior Analyst at TriLinc Global and is responsible for supporting the investment management related activities of TriLinc and its affiliates. Dylan began working at TriLinc as a Credit Trainee, assisting the investment team in monitoring and performing credit analysis on portfolio companies. Prior to joining TriLinc, Dylan was a consultant at Mohawk Capital Advisors, where he developed Closed End Fund data collection and analysis processes.
Dylan graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder with a B.S. in Finance.
Logan Goodman – Institutional Sales Intern
Logan Goodman is an Institutional Sales Intern at TriLinc Global where he is responsible for supporting the Institutional Sales team and aspects of the operations, marketing, compliance, finance and impact-related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc, Logan was an Analytics Specialist at NOMAD and Founder of ATMOS Candles, a candle company that planted 25 trees with each purchase.
Logan attended Santa Barbra City College with a Focus in Film Studies.
Marni Hodder – Director of Operations & Compliance
Marni Hodder is the Director of Operations and Compliance at TriLinc Global and is responsible for developing and implementing the operational and compliance-related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Previously, Marni was the Chief Impact Officer for TriLinc Global and was responsible for the design and implementation of TriLinc’s impact measurement program.
Marni has spent her career in the investment industry and contributes more than 17 years of investment industry experience. Her specific expertise includes portfolio accounting and administration, and registered investment adviser (“RIA”) operations and compliance, with an emphasis on robust and efficient process. Immediately prior to joining TriLinc Global, Marni was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Tow Financial Advisors, a Los Angeles-based boutique RIA, where she was also a member of the Investment Committee. During her tenure at Tow, she created and implemented a start-up compliance program for the independent RIA, oversaw all portfolio accounting and administration, as well as all IT platforms, designed and implemented a fiduciary-focused investment due diligence program, developed a proprietary fiduciary-focused 401(k) platform, and created and implemented a profit-center tracking system designed to focus resources on most profitable business lines.
Marni graduated magna cum laude from Northern Arizona University with majors in German and French. She has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility, and has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh.
Lily Hyde – Executive Assistant
Lily Hyde is the Executive Assistant at TriLinc Global, where she is responsible for assisting the CEO with her scheduling, travel logistics, and the organization and execution of TriLinc Board Meetings. Prior to Joining TriLinc, Lily worked for the City of Gardena for 12 years; for eight years, she was the Executive Director for the Gardena Police Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides supplemental resources directly to the Gardena Police Department in the form of grant funds. As the Director, Lily organized several fundraising and scholarship events, coordinated board meetings, and managed finances.
Lily volunteers regularly at St. James Catholic School and is fluent in Spanish.
Brad Kahan – Vice President – Product Management
Brad Kahan is the Vice President – Project Management at TriLinc Global. He is responsible for activities related to TriLinc-sponsored funds, focusing on TriLinc’s broker dealer and registered investment advisory activities. He reports directly to executive management.
Prior to joining TriLinc, Brad was the National Product Manager at SC Distributors and oversaw several funds including TriLinc Global Impact Fund. While at SC Distributors Brad raised over $200M across several products including $55M for TriLinc Global Impact Fund. Previously, Brad was Vice President New Business Development and Internal Wholesaler at SC Distributors. Prior to SC Distributors, Brad was an Internal Wholesaler for Steadfast Capital. Prior to that Brad was a Registered Representative for New England Financial Met Life.
Brad graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.A. in Communication. He is licensed in Series 7 and Series 66.
Elizabeth Khorasani – Office Manager
Elizabeth Khorasani is the Office Manager for TriLinc Global. She is responsible for a wide variety of functions including managing the organization’s office operations and supporting the administrative aspects of the operations, compliance, investment, finance and impact-related activities of the Company. Prior to joining TriLinc, Elizabeth was an Administrative Assistant at VIP Tours of California, where she managed inventory, sales, and calls.
Elizabeth graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
Ed Leavitt – Operations and Compliance Manager
Ed Leavitt is the Operations and Compliance Manager at TriLinc Global. He is responsible for developing and implementing the operational and compliance-related activities of the company and its sponsored products. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Ed was Vice President at Union Bank where he managed a team of Private Banking Associates across California, Oregon and Washington. While at Union Bank he was responsible for $1M+ in investment management fees. Prior to that Ed worked at Deutsche Bank as Vice President in the US Private Bank Wealth Analytics Group. Prior to that Ed worked at Wells Fargo Bank as Associate Vice President where he managed 200+ client portfolios and $150M+ in AUM.
Ed graduated from University of La Verne with a B.A. in Business Administration. He studied at the Cannon Trust School and received his Trust Operations Levels I & II and Trust Investment Level I. He’s held FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Eric Lee – Impact & ESG Analyst
Eric Lee is an Impact & ESG Analyst at TriLinc Global, where he is responsible for supporting the impact and marketing-related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Eric worked at Sustainable Insight Capital Management as a Summer and Fall Associate, where he enhanced ESG integration in to equity analysis processes during a period when the firm’s assets doubled. Prior to that role, Eric worked as a Sustainability Consultant for Bloomberg Associates, where he planned initiatives and financial models to improve quality, safety, and sustainability of streetlight infrastructure in Bogotá, Colombia.
Eric graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a Business minor; he later obtained a M.S. in Sustainability Management with a concentration in Sustainable Finance from Columbia University. Eric is fluent in English and Korean.
Amy McCance – Institutional Sales Associate
Amy McCance is an Institutional Sales Associate at TriLinc Global where she is responsible for supporting the Institutional Sales team and aspects of the operations, marketing, compliance, finance and impact-related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Amy joined TriLinc after working for several years in digital marketing where she focused on building an online presence and community for various health and nutrition-related companies.
Amy holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin with a focus in political communication and international studies. She is an active member of the Texas Exes, the Junior League of Los Angeles, and is a frequent volunteer with Young Life.
Jeanine Mosna – Staff Accountant
Jeanine Mosna is a Staff Accountant at TriLinc Global. Her primary responsibilities include managing accounts payable and several accounting duties. Immediately prior to joining TriLinc Global, Jeanine was the Accounting Clerk at Vista Investments, an operator, owner, and developer of hotels in the Western United States. Before her time at Vista, Jeanine was a Center Manager at UCode, a company that teaches children how to write computer software.
Jeanine has a B.S. in Business Administration and went on to complete her M.B.A. with an emphasis in Finance from Woodbury University in Burbank, CA. Jeanine was born in Switzerland and is fluent in English and French.
Alena Solonina – Associate
Alena Solonina is an Associate at TriLinc Global, with responsibility for supporting the investment management related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Alena was a Head Specialist in the Agricultural Insurance Department of Ingosstrakh, a global Russian insurance and reinsurance company, where she was responsible for sales and the development of new insurance standards and policies.
There, Alena also developed individual products for mid-size and large agricultural companies, prepared qualitative and quantitative market analyses, and launched and managed new product development projects, which she saw through from conception to sales.
Alena received a Master’s Degree in Finance and Credit from the Financial University in Moscow and continued her education in the United States with a Certificate Program in Finance from UCLA Extension. Alena is a native of Russia and is fluent in Russian.
Melissa Tickle – Senior Impact & ESG Analyst
Melissa Tickle is the Senior Impact & ESG Analyst at TriLinc Global where she is responsible for supporting the impact and marketing-related activities of the Company and its affiliates.
Melissa joined TriLinc Global after working for an impact investment fund manager based in Costa Rica that focused on lending to, and implementing technical assistance facilities for, microfinance institutions throughout Latin America. There, Melissa was responsible for conducting industry and country research and developing analyses for a new investment fund targeting SMEs in the region. Prior to that, Melissa was an intern on the partnerships team at Kiva, an online platform that connects lenders to entrepreneurs, where she provided monitoring and operational support for partner microfinance institutions.
Melissa graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations and a minor in Spanish. Melissa is fluent in Spanish.
Jonathan Ter Meer– Marketing Specialist
Jonathan is a Marketing Specialist at TriLinc Global and is responsible for managing projects related to marketing activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc, Jonathan worked as a digital consultant helping companies and organizations leverage technology. He has extensive experience building and managing digital marketing campaigns designed to inspire and create value.
Jonathan has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University where he also minored in Spanish. He studied at Oxford University’s Somerville College with a focus on Natural Science and Shakespeare. He sits on the board of directors for Water for Cambodia, a social enterprise providing clean drinking water with the use of locally-sourced bio-sand filters. Jonathan is based in Providence, Rhode Island
Karina Vadillo – Senior Analyst
Karina Vadillo is a Senior Analyst at TriLinc Global, with responsibility for supporting the investment management related activities of the Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining TriLinc Global, Karina was a Fellow at Agora Partnerships in Nicaragua, where she worked alongside social entrepreneurs, analyzing their financial statements and business models, to prepare them for investment. Karina began her career at Root Capital, an agricultural impact investor headquartered in Cambridge, MA. Beginning as a college intern, she spent five years at Root Capital focused on preparing and processing loan documents, disbursements, and amortizations with teams based across Latin America and Africa.
Karina graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Economics and Latin American Studies. She also holds an M.A. in International Relations and Economics from John Hopkins SAIS. During her time at SAIS, she interned at Quona Capital and Microvest, fund managers focused on financial inclusion. Karina is fluent in Spanish.
Paige VanDenburg – Impact and Marketing Trainee
Paige VanDenburg is an Impact and Marketing Intern at TriLinc Global, where she supports the impact team through market research and is responsible for creating and disseminating social media and website content. Prior to her internship at TriLinc, Paige worked as an Administrative Intern at Eberts and Brockway where she prepared estate documents and facilitated the office’s transition to becoming paper-free.
Paige is studying at Loyola Marymount University for a B.B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. She is proficient in French.
Chad VanNorman – Senior Associate
Chad VanNorman is a Senior Associate at TriLinc Global. He is responsible for supporting the investment management related activities of the Company and its affiliates. In 2013, he transitioned to the investment team from the operations team, having been a Staff Accountant. Chad joined TriLinc Global after graduating from university. He had previous experiences in accounting, serving as an assurance intern for Ernst & Young and tax and assurance intern for Hogan Taylor.
Chad is a 2016 Level II Candidate in the CFA Program and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Accounting from Oral Roberts University. While at Oral Roberts, Chad was CFO of a Student Association and as a Teacher’s Assistant for the head of the Principles of Accounting Course. Chad is a member of the South Bay Young Professionals community.
