B Lab, an independent, non-profit organization that certifies businesses that have voluntarily elected to become B Corporations, companies using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. A total of 846 businesses across 52 industries from 48 countries are recognized on the full list of 2017 Best for the World honorees. The 2017 Best for the World lists are determined based on the verified B Impact Assessments of Certified B Corporations in the categories of Best for Community, Best for Environment, Best for Workers, Best for the Long Term (Governance), and Best for the World. TriLinc Global scored in the top 10 percent in the Governance (Long Term) category out of 186 other certified B Corporations from 79 industries and 13 countries. TriLinc Global, LLC is a signatory to the Operating Principles for Impact Management (Impact Principles), an initiative developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in collaboration with a diverse group of impact investors, including asset managers, asset owners, multilateral development banks and development finance institutions. Launched in April 2019, the Impact Principles provide a framework for investors to ensure that impact considerations are purposefully integrated throughout the investment life cycle.
As a signatory, we are committed bringing greater discipline and transparency to the impact investing market and collaborating and leading on key impact investing initiatives that will help shape the future of the impact investing market. TriLinc Global, LLC is a signatory to the PRI Initiative, an international network of investors who have pledged to incorporate ESG issues into their investment analysis and ownership policy. We are committed to the advancement of responsible investment and to the development of a more sustainable global financial system via our role as a fiduciary.
The Responsible Investment Due Diligence Questionnaire (RI DDQ) is the first industry-standard RI DDQ to assist investors when assessing external hedge fund managers on their responsible investment policies and practices. It helps identify those hedge funds that have the personnel, knowledge, and structure to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in the investment decision-making process.
TriLinc signed the UNPRI in 2012 and was an early adopter of the RI DDQ in 2017.
